TERMITES ATTACT

Last week my husband just realize my house has been attack by termites. Seriously it is horror… almost 2-3 days my husband have to re arrange all my goods in the store. It was so bad experience.

PENAT SANGAT……To be story… the termites so angry, they moved to our stairs… now they eat our skirting of laminating flooring, and become dramatics when our developer Anti- termites contractor keep calling to reschedule our appointment. It is so tiring and I don’t know how far the termites attack my house.

Abang this guide for us, I found an informative information about termites that can help us during the inspection on termites at our house tommorow.

SEVERAL LOCATION WITHIN BUILDING OR STRUCTURES ARE GENERALLY PRONE TO TERMITE.
a. Door and window frames.
b. Parquet floor.
c. Baseboard/skirting areas.
d. Built-in cabinet.
e. Store-room under staircase.
f. Roof/ceiling panel.
g. Bathroom’s door frame.

It is crucial for a pest control operator checks these locations for infestation during inspection process. Infestation can be in the presence of the following:

1. Active mud tubes (with presence of live termites)
When termites search for new source of wood, they always build mud
tubes across walls and floors. It is important to check to find out
whether mud tubes are active (with live termites), or the ones that
had been abandoned.

2. Alate wings
Alates are winged termites. After alates swarm, they will shed their
wings, and thus discarded alate wings is a good indication for their
presence. However, it is important to determine whether the wings
are blown into the buildings from outside (eg. corridor), or from an
infestation within the building itself.

3. Damage wood
Wood fed by subterranean termites are generally hollow inside. In
addition, they can also be a damp patches on wood, portions of mud in
unusual places, holes in the wood, blistering of paint, etc. Damage by
wood borers can be distinguished from subterranean termites with pin-size holes wood. In addition powder- like materials may also be visble around the wood damaged by this group of insects

d. Alate swarming
Alates are winged insects. A good indication of a large infestation is the
presence of swarming winged termites. However, it is important to
confirm that the swarming termites come within a point in the building,
and not from natural environment and fly into or around the building due to attraction to light.
